In 2007, at the age of 29, I was diagnosed with cancer. I underwent many surgeries over the next couple of years and after it was all over, I knew I needed a different lifestyle. I needed something more active and better for my body so that it could become strong and healthy again. I was invited by a friend to join his Crossfit box and I instantly fell in love! Since then I have moved to Florida where I was introduced to Powerlifting and truth be told, I found a new love. I entered my first Powerlifting meet in 2017 and placed 1st in my category. This was it, I was meant to be in the fitness industry. I knew this new path in life was the one I was supposed to be on and I knew I needed a place where women could come together and encourage each other to become the best version of themselves. Opening Iron Lady Fitness has been a dream come true! All women need a place where they can feel confident throughout their fitness journey and Iron Lady Fitness is just that place! After having my son and suffering back injuries from multiple car accidents I struggled to keep the weight off. I hired a personal trainer to help. I’ve tried many different avenues of fitness in the past and nothing really kept me consistent, then my trainer introduced me to powerlifting. I instantly fell in love with the sport and my entire life changed. After seeing results, becoming strong, and feeling good about myself, I decided I wanted to help others reach their goals. I have been both trainer and trainee and understand how it feels to struggle with body image. My focus is to help my clients get stronger, healthier and reach their fitness goals. Although balancing home life and a career may be tough sometimes, I believe that finding time for yourself and your health is very important, and a great example for family. Being a Mom of 3, I needed an outlet from the kids and home life. I notice that I'd gain some weight so what better way to get out of the house than going to the gym. I was able to gain my confidence back and build a new found love for fitness. In June 2013 I became a certified Zumba instructor and loved every bit of it. Being a military wife we move a lot, so in January 2014 my family and I moved to Navarre. I gained 30+ pounds in about a years time frame. Not being able to find a place that offered daycare during my workouts and adjusting to a new place took a toll on me. Finally I was able to teach Zumba again at a local gym but because of my children's schedule I was unable to keep my classes. So in February 2016 I became a certified Personal trainer through Expert Rating. Becoming a Personal trainer has been the best decision ever. I love being able to help people one on one, guide them through their workouts and help them build that gym confidence that they need once they finish with my personal training sessions. Iron Lady Fitness has given me the opportunity to give all of those things and more. In the past 2 years I've been able to lose 40+ pounds as well as tone & gain muscle in all the right places. I love helping my clients here at Iron Lady Fitness. Give me a call today at 505.252.7248

Fitness has always been a passion of mine. I started weight training as a freshman in high school. I have always known that I wanted to be in an industry that allows me to help others overcome their physical limitations. I am currently attending Pensacola State for Physical Therapist Assistant which allows me to gain the knowledge for corrective exercises. My goal is to help women physically and mentally come back from any form of injury stronger and more confident than ever before; as well as getting active and living a better, healthier, lifestyle for themselves. About 6 years ago I started my fitness journey; however it wasn’t up till 2 years ago that I started to see progress in my body composition and my overall life. I was 17 when I got my first gym membership. I wouldn’t try new exercise or even dare to go to the weight rack while people were there. I was extremely self-conscious and I would constantly think people were looking and criticizing me. Although I was feeling better than when I wasn’t doing any physical activities, I would always feel hungry, exhausted and moody. I absolutely hated the routine of starving myself, dieting, and the long hours on the cardio machines. I spent hours doing research and working with coaches and little by little I became more knowledgeable, self-confident, more energetic; but most importantly I felt healthy and happy with my life. I started lifting heavier weights, doing new exercises and eating correctly and soon started to see the change that for years I was looking for. My love for fitness grew day by day. I was training with friends and seeing their lives change like my life had changed. I decided to become NASM certified personal trainer to help others grow on their fitness journey.

My love for fitness started at a very young age as a competitive gymnast and track and field athlete. It wasn’t until I was introduced to strength training that I found my true passion in the fitness industry. My favorite exercises include fundamental movements such as hip hinging, RDL’s and pull-ups. I truly believe in living a holistic, healthy life and am passionate about how health not only benefits the physical appearance, but also the emotional and mental states, which are equally important. My fitness philosophy seeks to be well-rounded; incorporating movements from various disciplines such as yoga to counterbalance some of the tension strength training can place on the body. I have loved seeing my clients totally transform the way they see themselves and hope to help everyone I work with gain self-confidence and create life-long healthy habits.
